The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredits most of the genetic counseling programs listed. While all of these programs meet minimum ABGC standards of quality, they each have their own unique focus as well as specific regulations, guidelines, prerequisites, etc. Additionally, international programs in genetic counseling and graduate nursing programs with specialty tracts in genetics are also listed. Thus, each program should be contacted individually to obtain program specific information. What is true for one program may not be true for another.
