Annual Education Conferences and Short Courses

Why You Should Attend the 27th Annual Education Conference
The 27th Annual Education Conference is the only national conference that focuses specifically on the genetic counselor’s educational needs. This conference addresses all areas of traditional and non-traditional genetic counseling and provides current information that is pertinent to the genetic counseling profession. Featuring renowned speakers like Caroline Lieber, MS, CGC and Judith Piggot, MD, PhD discussing topics from Privileging Family Stories and Autism Spectrum Disorders, the 27th Annual Education Conference promises to be an informative event regardless of your area of practice or specialty. Valuable networking opportunities during the Welcome Reception and Program Reunions provide the chance to mingle with your colleagues and catch up with friends. Visit the Exhibitor Suite to receive current information and see what is happening in the genetic counseling field.
After attending this conference participants will be able to:
- Describe recent developments in the fields of genetic counseling and medical genetics, including diagnosis, disease management and therapeutic options
- Understand and incorporate new technologies, genetic testing and research results into the practice of genetic counseling
- Understand and apply counseling theories and techniques in varied genetic counseling settings
