POLICIES AND GUIDELINES FOR NEWS MEDIA COVERING THE 2016 ANNUAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE
GENERAL INFORMATION: The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) 35th Annual Education Conference offers diverse educational sessions and networking opportunities specifically designed for genetic counselors and genetics professionals.
MEDIA ELIGIBILITY: Press registration and credentials are available only to members of the working media who can demonstrate that their attendance results in original coverage of the 2016 NSGC Annual Education Conference. NSGC does not issue press credentials to advertising, marketing, public relations or sales representatives; publishers, promotional publications; public relations staff of exhibitors or educational institutions; writers creating analyses or reports sold as a commodity to customers; or other individuals who are not actually reporting on the NSGC Annual Education Conference.
In order to obtain press credentials, media must present identification certifying that they are a working member of the print, broadcast or online news media and/or a letter from an editor stating that you have been assigned to cover the 2016 NSGC Annual Education Conference. Working press may not also register as exhibitors.

COVERING THE MEETING: Registered members of the working media may access/attend all 2016 NSGC Annual Education Conference educational sessions, workshops and exhibits. Private staff areas, Board and committee meetings and NSGC member social events
are not open to media. NSGC retains final authority in all issues of access. Questions about access should be directed to Jennie Szink (firstname.lastname@example.org, 312.558.1770 ext. 140).
INTERVIEWS: Space will be available for media to conduct interviews. Select NSGC spokespersons are available for interviews. To arrange an interview, contact Jennie Szink (email@example.com, 312.558.1770 ext. 140).
VIDEO/PHOTO REGULATIONS: Special audio/video requests including arrangements for taped interviews must be submitted in writing to NSGC prior to Sept. 21. Please direct audio/video requests to Jennie Szink (firstname.lastname@example.org, 312.558.1770 ext. 140).
Please Note: All camera crews must be accompanied by a member of NSGC staff unless other arrangements have been made. Flash photography is not allowed during educational sessions and workshops. As a courtesy to presenters, audio and video recording of sessions is allowed only with prior permission of the speaker.
Failure to fulfill any of these requirements will result in forfeiture of media credentials for the 2016 NSGC Annual Education Conference and denial of credentials for subsequent meetings.
