Course Information

The Journal of Genetic Counseling  CEU program is designed to help genetic counselors stay abreast of research occurring within the field, and provide additional learning and CEU opportunities in an on-demand, self-paced format.

All articles included in this program are taken from the Journal of Genetic Counseling, which is published six times a year. Typically, two articles per issue are selected. The titles of the articles chosen for the program are posted on the NSGC website.

After completing this 10.00 contact hour program, learners will be able to:

  • Identify areas of current research occurring within the field of genetic counseling 
  • Distinguish how genetic counseling skills and theories can impact both patient care and other healthcare professions 
  • Assess the theories related to the practice of genetic counseling

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has approved 1.00 CEUs or 10.00 Category 1 contact hours for the activity: 2018 Journal of Genetic Counseling CEU Program. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification. Individuals must be certified at the time of participation in the activity in order to count towards recertification.
