This course will focus on building and expanding research skills in genetic counselors across roles, settings and specialties to empower the profession to perform thoughtful research related to genetic counseling practice and outcomes. The four modules will discuss how to explore innovative opportunities to become involved in research, identify resources in developing a research program, and provide useful quantitative and qualitative skills to confidently integrate research into your current role.

After completing this 3.57 hour course, learners will be able to:

  • Develop new research skills.
  • Identify resources useful for developing a research program.

The National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) has been authorized to offer up to 0.35 CEUs or 3.57 Category 1 Contact Hours for the activity: Revisiting Research: Improving Your Skills to Integrate Research into Your Role online course through 10/11/2019. The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor certification and recertification. Genetic counselors must be certified at the time of the activity in order for credits to count towards recertification.
