2020 Journal of Genetic Counseling CEU Program

Course Information

The Journal of Genetic Counseling  CEU program is designed to help genetic counselors stay abreast of research occurring within the field, and provide additional learning and CEU opportunities in an on-demand, self-paced format.

All articles included in this program are taken from the Journal of Genetic Counseling, which is published six times a year. The titles of the articles chosen for the program are posted on the NSGC website. Once again in 2020, the NSGC Podcast Series is teaming up with the Journal of Genetic Counseling CEU program to bring journal articles to life. The Podcast Subcommittee will incorporate article authors and/or content into the podcast episodes by interviewing authors and specialists to further explore the information in the Journal of Genetic Counseling. Learners will earn additional CEUs and be offered a different lens into article content. The titles of JGC articles associated with the podcast series will also be listed on the NSGC website

After completing this 12.00 contact hour program, learners will be able to:

  • Identify areas of current research occurring within the field of genetic counseling
  • Distinguish how genetic counseling skills and theories can impact both patient care and other healthcare professions
  • Assess the theories related to the practice of genetic counseling
