NSGC endorses the Joint Statement in Support of COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates for All Health Care Workers
NSGC endorses the Joint Statement in Support of COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates for All Health Care Workers released by a number of leading health organizations. Genetic counselors, like many other health care professionals, often live and/or work with vulnerable populations, such as unvaccinated children or people who are immunocompromised. We acknowledge that vaccination can be a complex decision for some individuals in BIPOC communities due to past and ongoing injustices and systemic racism that have eroded trust. Vaccination is a key means for health care professionals to protect our own health, the health of our families, and of the patients and communities that we serve.
