Member Updates
Input Opportunity: ACMG Working Group Survey on VUS Reporting
The ACMG/AMP/CAP/ClinGen SVC v4.0 standards for sequence variant classification will soon be released and will provide an easy framework for subclassifying VUS. In addition, a different working group within the ACMG is in the process of developing a “Points To Consider” document that will provide helpful and much needed considerations for laboratory policies in the reporting of VUS (both in SNV/indels and CNV testing), including the use of VUS subclasses.
To better inform development of the “Points to Consider” document, the workgroup would like to administer a brief survey to members of the genetics community, including genetic counselors. If you are interested in participating, please complete the ACMG Working Group Survey on VUS Reporting.
New SIG Application Process
If you are interested in starting a new SIG, please complete the SIG application form by July 31, 2024. Please send all completed applications to the NSGC Executive Office (nsgc@nsgc.org). For more information about the review and approval process, please refer to the Policy on Evaluation of Special Interest Groups on page 17 of the NSGC Policy Manual.
